What can I do to help against food allergies in my baby?

Pediatricians and the latest USDA Guidelines now recommend introducing food allergens (e.g., peanut, egg, fish, egg, tree nuts, shellfish, soy, sesame, wheat, dairy) around 4-6 months of age to decrease the risk of developing a food allergy. Studies have proven that early introduction paired with ongoing feeding of foods that could become allergies, decrease risks for babies and toddlers. Studies show that infants are at higher risk for developing an allergy when food like peanut is introduced later in life (e.g., at 12 months or 18 months of age).

Early and consistent feedings of common allergens help train your baby's growing tummy and immune system to grow up accustomed to diverse foods.
